Worship
In the beginning
Before this universe was created
Satan rebelled from worshipping God.
He didn’t understand the significance of worship.
He believed in equality.
He believed in himself.
He saw himself as good.
He saw himself as capable of making sound decisions.
In the beginning
Before this universe was created
He had questions about God
That he never voiced
And that never got answered
Until the end of the age of questions.
In the beginning
Before the world was populated
Satan chose his questions
And separated himself from God
And with those questions
Created mistrust in a legion of angels
And the legion separated themselves from God
Because they believed in equality.
Because they saw themselves as good.
Because they saw themselves as capable of making
Sound decisions.
After creation
When the earth was being populated
With those that would worship God
Satan asked the question,
“Did God really say, ‘you must not eat from any tree in the garden’?”
It starts with a question.
And continues to the wrong conclusion
When the question is asked of anyone else but God.
Only God holds the absolute truth.
Which Satan, his minions, and humanity failed to realize.
After creation
God commanded humanity to rule over every living creature that moved.
Ruling means to have more wisdom and authority
Humanity ruled over serpents, dogs, cats and all living creatures
Until humanity saw them as worthy of equality.
Until humanity stopped to consider their questions.
Until humanity
Disregarding the command to rule
Hearkened to the words not from God.
Hearkened to the words of the serpent.
Which elevated the spirit behind the serpent
And legitimized that spirit, that satan,
And subjugated humanity to its authority.
Satan was allowed to enter the universe
As supreme authority
By virtue of humanity stepping down
By virtue of humanity’s disregard of rule and authority.
By virtue of humanity failing to ask God.
By our desire to know evil as well as good.
And evil came into the world
Not created by God
Here by invitation of us
Here by false beliefs
Here by false actions
Here by the wrong choices we made
And the wrong choices we continue to make
Here by our lack of communication
With the God who has the absolute truth.
Here because we fail to worship
The one who has more wisdom and all authority
From the one we receive authority and rule
And evil resides
Not from God
Here by invitation of us
Here by our desire to entertain evil
Here by our desire to explore evil
Here by choosing to think evil
Here by our lack of communication
With the God who has the answer to all evil.
Here because we fail to worship
The one who has the answers to our questions.
Here
Not half a world away
Not in the 10/40 window
Not in the synagogue of Satan
Here
In our homes
In our minds
In our hearts
Because we live and move and have our being
Apart from the living vine
Apart from the only source of truth and wisdom
Because we believe in equality
As opposed to unity.
Because we believe in the goodness of humanity
Apart from an absolute, eternal, creator God.
Because we do not
Just as Satan did not
Comprehend that our goodness is from
Our oneness with God, our worship.
And Jesus said,
“Why do you call me good?”
